President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi during a telephone conversation last Friday discussed the possibilities of building up interstate partnership, taking into account the existing prospects and modern realities, TDH reports.
In this context, the interlocutors noted the existence of great potential for expanding cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport and communication complexes and agriculture.
Focusing on the positive nature of the Turkmen-Iranian trade and economic relations, the heads of state stressed the importance of the effective work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which is one of the main tools for deepening and diversifying productive ties.
During the conversation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly recalled his official visit to Iran on June 14-15, 2022, during which positive negotiations were held in an open format, an exchange of views on various issues, and important agreements were reached on promising areas of cooperation.
The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the results of the visit gave a new impetus to the further development of interstate relations.
