UAE delegation to discuss creation of joint business council during visit to Turkmenistan

In the near future, a representative delegation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) headed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the country will visit Turkmenistan. This was announced at a government meeting last Friday by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
As noted, in this regard, it is proposed to prepare a Work Plan for cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE for 2023-2024, as well as to consider the establishment of a joint Business Council and hold its first meeting next year.
The upcoming negotiations were discussed during the recent official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the UAE, following which 13 documents were signed at the intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels, as well as 8 documents through business structures.
In order to practically implement the agreements reached, it is proposed to hold a regular meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2023, to develop a Roadmap aimed at further expanding the Turkmen-Emirati partnership, R. Meredov noted.
During the government meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the great opportunities for building up bilateral cooperation with the UAE in the trade and economic sphere, including in such strategic areas as the oil and gas complex, transport and logistics, where a significant factor is the presence of a powerful port infrastructure in both countries.
