Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. This is reported by the leading news agencies of Russia with reference to Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for International Affairs.
The SCO summit will take place on September 15-16 in the Uzbek city of Samarkand. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will take part in the summit as an honored guest.
The upcoming event will also be attended by the leaders of the SCO member states – India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the heads of observer states – Belarus, Iran and Mongolia.
As expected, the honorary guests of the SCO summit, along with the head of Turkmenistan, will be the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The Kremlin expects that more than two dozen documents will be signed on the sidelines of the SCO summit, Yury Ushakov said to reporters. In particular, it will be a roadmap for a gradual increase in the share of national currencies in mutual settlements.
