 Turkmenistan is ready to start exporting natural gas and electricity to Kazakhstan.  This was stated by Vice-Chairman, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, speaking on January 11 at an extraordinary online meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Turkic States, at which the situation in Kazakhstan was discussed, the website of the foreign ministry of our country reports.

 Turkmenistan, as a neutral state recognized by the world community, is ready to provide any support to the people of Kazakhstan in the economic, social and humanitarian spheres, R. Meredov said.

 In this regard, the Vice-Chairman noted that Turkmenistan is ready to start exporting natural gas to Kazakhstan starting in March 2022.

 R. Meredov also added that Turkmenistan is ready to provide fraternal Kazakhstan with the necessary amount of electricity.

 Speaking about the events that have taken place in Kazakhstan in recent days, the Vice-Chairman especially noted that Turkmenistan is interested in the soonest normalization of the situation in this country, in the further stable socio-political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan.

 Meredov expressed his firm conviction that qualities such as wisdom, foresight, deep respect for the customs and traditions of the ancient Kazakh people will serve as a solid basis for resolving all emerging issues in the constitutional and legal field and in accordance with international norms.

 Expressing the wishes of peace and prosperity to the Kazakh people, Meredov assured that to achieve this goal, Turkmenistan will make every necessary effort.

 Speaking at the meeting, R. Meredov noted the significance of the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Istanbul on November 12, 2021.  In this regard, he recalled that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in his speech at the Summit, emphasized: «The peoples of our countries are united by common values ​​that have long-term historical roots, aimed at ensuring peace, stability and mutual understanding».

 “Based on this fundamental approach, Turkmenistan will continue close cooperation with all member states of the Organization to maintain lasting peace and security, which guarantees economic, social and humanitarian development in the countries of the region,” the Vice-Chairman said.
