Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed cooperation in energy and other areas

A wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation was discussed on July 14 at a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

During the conversation, the heads of foreign policy departments stated with satisfaction the high dynamics of the development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations. It was emphasized that a powerful impulse to bilateral interaction is given to regular, trusting contacts at the highest state level.

Diplomats discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, paying special attention to the practical implementation of previously reached agreements. The parties considered in detail the progress of joint projects in the trade, economic, transport, logistics, energy and industrial sectors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.

The Foreign Ministers also mentioned the key aspects of regional and international policy of mutual interest, confirming the close positions of the parties' positions on ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in Central Asia.

It should be noted that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are actively developing strategic partnership in the energy sector. The interaction covers traditional supply of hydrocarbons, energy transit, as well as the exchange of experience in the field of energy modernization and green energy.

Among the key areas of cooperation is the transit and supply of natural gas through the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline. The issues of expanding cooperation and logistics in the fuel and energy sector on a regular basis are discussed at the highest state level.
