Potential for developing Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation in energy and transport was discussed

On July 8, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, TDH reports.
The main topics of the meeting were strengthening trade and economic ties, joint energy projects, and the development of transit and transport corridors.
Mikayil Jabbarov conveyed greetings from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the Turkmen leader. The parties emphasized that regular high-level dialogue and Serdar Berdimuhamedov's recent state visit to Baku have opened a new chapter in bilateral relations.
The interlocutors identified the joint Intergovernmental Commission as a key tool for diversifying ties. Its next meeting is intended to accelerate the implementation of previously reached agreements.
Particular emphasis was placed on leveraging the advantageous geographical location of the two countries. The parties agreed that the Caspian region offers significant opportunities for launching joint international projects in the energy sector and creating end-to-end logistics routes.
Preparations for the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, scheduled for this year in Turkmenistan, were also discussed. The summit aims to strengthen regional integration during Ashgabat's chairmanship of the CIS.

In the Balkan region, a key region in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, it is planned to increase natural gas production to 11 billion cubic meters per year by 2025.
