Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit on June 18, TDH reports.

At the capital's International Airport, where the national flags of Turkmenistan and Malaysia were raised on flagpoles, the distinguished guest was greeted by officials.

From the airport, the distinguished guest's motorcade proceeded to the residence reserved for the visit.

Today, relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit, are reaching new heights.

A new chapter in the history of interstate dialogue was written by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Malaysia in 2024, marking an important stage in the development of productive cooperation.

The oil and gas industry is one of the strategic areas of bilateral economic cooperation. The Malaysian company Petronas's long-standing and effective work in Turkmenistan serves as a clear example of a long-term and reliable investment partnership. The extensive experience accumulated during joint operations in the Caspian Sea now creates a solid foundation for expanding cooperation in the areas of deep processing of hydrocarbon resources, petrochemicals, and the introduction of advanced environmentally friendly technologies into production.

Furthermore, following the agreements reached at the highest level, Turkmenistan and Malaysia, in addition to cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, aim to expand their partnership in other areas. The parties are focusing on promising areas such as transport and logistics, high technology, and agriculture.

Therefore, the upcoming high-level talks in Ashgabat and the agreements reached during them will be an important step towards further developing fruitful cooperation between the two friendly countries across a wide range of areas.
