Turkmenistan continues its large-scale transition to a green economy, focusing on renewable energy sources and radically reducing methane emissions.

A key instrument of this strategy is the "European Union for Green Development in Turkmenistan 2024–2029" project, implemented with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and GIZ. The initiative aims to introduce advanced technological solutions and strengthen policy dialogue on climate change.

As part of the practical phase of cooperation, a specialized seminar was held in Mary at the State Energy Institute. Leading experts from Clausthal University of Technology (Germany) presented their Turkmen counterparts with innovations in solar and wind power generation, as well as green hydrogen production technologies.

At the same time, a delegation of EU and German Foreign Ministry representatives visited the region to assess the progress of joint programs.

Technological modernization also affected the oil and gas sector. An expert forum dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence in oil and gas production was held in Ashgabat. Professor Philip Yeager presented predictive well maintenance methods that not only increase field productivity but also minimize environmental risks.

The use of neural networks to combat corrosion and ensure well integrity is becoming an important step in fulfilling the country's global climate commitments.

Joint work in critical areas such as reducing methane emissions and implementing renewable energy sources is a tangible contribution to the global environmental agenda. By joining forces, the parties are building a modern infrastructure capable of ensuring a stable and secure future for the region, according to the Turkmenistan International Information Center.
