Japan is offering Turkmenistan gas processing and helium production projects

Turkmenistan Ambassador to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov met with the President of the Turkmen-Japanese Science and Technology Association, Hiroshima Koinuma, and representatives of Japanese companies and organizations working with the association, according to the Turkmenistan International Information Center.
The meeting discussed strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, as well as introducing potential new Japanese companies and organizations to the Turkmen market.
In particular, the possibilities of a project proposed by a professor at Japan's Chubu University to convert natural gas into liquefied natural gas and then export it to global markets, as well as establishing helium production from liquefied natural gas, were discussed.
The parties also exchanged views on the planned implementation of water purification technologies and equipment in Turkmenistan by the Japanese company Tohkemy Corporation, a partner of the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan under a Memorandum of Understanding signed on April 15, 2025, during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan.
The meeting also presented information on the services offered by the Japanese organization Asia Seed in human resource development in the education systems of Asian countries.
