The activities of Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector in 2025 were summarized at the sectoral meeting

On February 14, 2026, being held under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”, a reporting meeting was held in the Central Building of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan to review the results of activities performed in 2025, the Year of International Peace and Trust. During the meeting, the objectives, set before the oil and gas industry by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the extended sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 13, devoted to the results of the country’s socioeconomic development in 2025, were discussed, and specific ways to further advance work in this area were considered.
Opening the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Guvanch Agajanov emphasized that, thanks to the attention and support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, work to improve the oil and gas industry and to modernize its material and technical infrastructure was being systematically and consistently implemented. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the importance of effectively solving the tasks set before the domestic fuel and energy sector.
At the meeting, the need to continue in 2026 efforts to develop the oil and gas industry to a modern level, to increase volumes and to expand routes for natural gas supplies to foreign markets, to effectively develop oil fields, to introduce modern technologies for increasing the production capacity of oil and gas enterprises and to gradually develop the Galkynyş gas field was emphasized.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Türkmennebit State Concern Guvanch Agajanov, the State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern Maksat Babayev, the Chairman of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation Gurbangeldy Garliyev and the heads of the complex’s associations, directorates, organizations and enterprises presented reports on the work executed and the tasks set before the complex.
The presentations covered information on oil, gas condensate and liquefied natural gas production in the country, the development of cooperation with leading international companies, the widespread use of digital systems in the complex’s activities, the acceleration of phased work at gas fields, the uninterrupted supply of natural gas to consumers and the successful implementation of the objectives set for the new year 2026. The need to focus on accelerating the construction of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, particularly of its key section, the Arkadagyň ak ýoly – Serhetabat–Herat pipeline, increasing the production capacity of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries and the Seydi oil refinery and other important areas was also underscored.
The meeting also highlighted priority areas in the oil and gas sector and tasks of the exploration and discovery of new fields, the study of new technologies for implementing major projects and attracting foreign investment and regular professional development for industry specialists.
Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov underlined the importance of the continuous monitoring of the planned and ongoing major projects in the country’s oil and gas sector, the use of modern technologies and the proper implementation of production plans. Upon outlining the specific tasks, facing the Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit State Concerns and the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov wished industry workers every success in developing the oil and gas sector and effectively implementing the tasks set.
