Students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas (IUOG) distinguished themselves by representing Turkmen higher education at the international Olympiads in Mathematics and Chemistry, which took place from January 24 to 29, 2026, in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

Following the prestigious intellectual competitions, Turkmen youth added five awards to our country's tally of achievements, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

In the mathematics championship, Kerimguly Bendov, a first-year student in the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity, showed the best result, winning a gold medal and a first-place diploma. His success was supported by Islam Khayitmukhammedov, a fourth-year student in the same faculty, who was awarded a silver medal and a second-place diploma. These achievements confirmed the school's strong training of specialists in the fields of exact sciences and digital technologies.

Strong results were also recorded in the chemistry section, where fourth-year student Azim Bahtiyarov of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Ecology received a silver medal and a second-place diploma. The list of winners was rounded out by Abdyrahim Batyrov, representing the same faculty, and Jemshit Talibjonov from the Faculty of Power Engineering and Civil Engineering – both students received bronze medals and third-place diplomas.

The success of IUOG students in Uzbekistan is a clear indication of the effectiveness of educational reforms and the growing prestige of Turkmen higher education on the international stage.
