On December 21, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the Russian Federation on a working visit to participate in the informal High-Level Summit of the Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, TDH reports.

It is noted that informal CIS summits have become an important platform for CIS leaders to engage in close dialogue. Unlike official summits, such meetings are not limited to a specific agenda but create favorable conditions for discussing topical issues in regional stability, economics, and cultural cooperation. Summarizing the results of the past year and outlining plans for the future in this format helps strengthen relations between states and find solutions to important issues.

This Summit format demonstrates that the CIS states are bound not only by historical and geographical commonalities but also by the shared goal of maintaining stability in the Eurasian region.

Turkmenistan, a permanently neutral country and an associate member of the CIS, plays an important role in the Commonwealth as a reliable partner and peacekeeping center. Our country advocates for the substantive enrichment of cooperation within the CIS, focusing on the economic sphere and the transport and logistics sector. Turkmenistan's initiatives to create international transport corridors are supported by its CIS partners.

As part of this cooperation, our country consistently promotes energy diplomacy and environmental security. Humanitarian dialogue is also an important area of partnership.

The participation of CIS leaders in the recently held International Forum for Peace and Trust in Ashgabat was particularly significant. The forum provided an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of political and diplomatic dialogue in addressing contemporary global challenges.
