Turkmen and US businessmen discussed priority areas of cooperation

A business forum, "Turkmen-American Business Cooperation: New Opportunities and Prospects for Partnership Development," was held during Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's working visit to the United States, TDH reported on November 7.

The event was attended by government officials and business representatives from Turkmenistan and the United States, including John Deere, General Electric (GE), SpaceX, Oppenheimer Holdings Inc., as well as the World Bank and the IMF.

Before the meeting, participants viewed an exhibition of Turkmen products, which showcased Turkmenistan's export potential. These products included food, textiles, leather goods, and medical supplies.

At the opening of the forum, Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-USA Business Council, noted the council's role in strengthening relations between the two countries' private sector entities. He emphasized the need to more actively utilize this platform.

Leaders of relevant US organizations noted the growing interest of American businessmen in the developing Turkmen market, confirming their willingness to participate in implementing Turkmenistan's socioeconomic development programs and sharing advanced technologies, innovations, and best international practices.

During the meeting, the Deputy Head of the State Concern Turkmengas presented a report on long-term opportunities for cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, as well as projects aimed at improving regional energy security, diversifying export routes, and developing green energy.

Promising areas of cooperation included investment and trade and economic cooperation, and mechanisms for their implementation were identified. The importance of intensifying partnerships in areas such as high technology and digitalization, cybersecurity, communications, and digital infrastructure was emphasized.

Private companies in Turkmenistan expressed interest in collaborating with American companies in the supply of equipment and green construction technologies.

One of the main topics of discussion was cooperation in the processing industry. A desire was expressed for partnership and exchange of experience in producing food and textile products that meet international standards, increasing their export potential and expanding sales markets, and enhancing employee professionalism.

The forum included bilateral meetings to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation.
