Turkmenistan and Iran are intensifying interregional cooperation

The further development of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation was discussed on November 5 at a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov and Bahman Nuri, Governor of North Khorasan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties noted the high level of bilateral relations, reinforced by the systematic and dynamic nature of high-level contacts. During the talks, they noted their mutual interest in intensifying interregional cooperation, including within the framework of the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Ahal Region and North Khorasan Province.

The parties discussed in detail the development and expansion of cooperation between the Ahal Region of Turkmenistan and North Khorasan Province of Iran in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. In this regard, proposals were put forward aimed at expanding interaction in promising and mutually beneficial areas.

As part of the visit, the delegation headed by the Governor of North Khorasan Province is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with the leadership of the Ahal region and relevant ministries and departments.
