At the CIET-2025 International Conference in Avaza, a statement was made confirming Turkmenistan's technological breakthrough in low-carbon energy, the International university of Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan reported on November 4.

Bayrammyrat Atamanov, Rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University (IOGU), announced a significant achievement: the establishment of a Hydrogen Energy Center and the development of a unique plasma-chemical facility.

This scientific breakthrough is a direct result of the implementation of the "Roadmap for the Development of International Cooperation in Hydrogen Energy" approved by the President of Turkmenistan.

A key achievement of IOGU scientists was the creation of the Hydrogen Energy Center. The new structure is focused on research and development in the field of alternative energy. The Center has developed the first plasma-chemical facility designed to convert natural gas into hydrogen and carbon black. The development of this facility has dual strategic significance for Turkmenistan. It enables the production of hydrogen fuel—one of the cleanest energy sources—from natural gas, while significantly reducing emissions. This strengthens our country's position in the development of low-carbon technologies.

Along with the laboratory electrolysis facility, this project makes the university a leader in training highly qualified personnel capable of working with advanced technologies in the new era of hydrogen energy.

Thus, IOGU is demonstrating an active role in diversifying the country's energy potential, transforming natural resources into high-tech products.
