The President of Turkmenistan's official visit to the Italian Republic has begun

Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for an official visit to the Italian Republic. The head of state was seen off by government officials at the Turkmen capital's international airport, TDH reported on October 24.

A few hours later, the head of state's plane landed at Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. There, the President of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by Italian officials and members of the official delegation of our country.

Relations between Turkmenistan and Italy are a shining example of successful and mutually beneficial cooperation, with a centuries-long history and promising prospects. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, our countries have been actively developing a multifaceted partnership based on the principles of mutual respect.

As reported, a meeting between the two heads of state will be held during the visit. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is also scheduled to attend the Turkmen-Italian Business Forum and the opening ceremony of the "Ancient Civilization of Turkmenistan" exhibition at the Capitoline Museum in Rome.

Following the visit, the signing of a package of bilateral documents on key areas of cooperation is expected.
