On September 27, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Rustam Minnikhanov, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in celebrations dedicated to Turkmenistan's Independence Day, TDH reports.
The guest congratulated the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty on the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The head of Tatarstan conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Hero-Arkadag congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on his victory in the presidential election in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It was noted that the first country the Tatarstan leader visited after the elections was fraternal Turkmenistan, demonstrating the high level of bilateral relations. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also conveyed greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the dynamic and effective nature of the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the interstate dialogue with the Russian Federation was emphasized.
The parties also discussed the development of economic ties. In this context, the important role of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was emphasized.
It was noted that great importance is attached to strengthening and expanding humanitarian contacts, including in scientific and educational spheres.
The Tatarstan leader noted the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan to develop friendly relations between the two peoples.
Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that Rustam Minnikhanov's current visit will give new impetus to the further development of Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two fraternal peoples.
