President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung sent sincere congratulations to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his birthday.

"Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the Republic of Korea and Turkmenistan have steadily developed friendly and partnership relations in a wide range of areas, and since 2008, bilateral relations have significantly expanded and strengthened, reaching the level of mutually beneficial cooperation," reads the letter from the Korean leader, published on September 22 on the TDH website.

Lee Jae-myung expressed "hope that relations with Turkmenistan, a key partner of the Republic of Korea in Central Asia, will continue to deepen and develop based on mutual benefit".

"In particular, I sincerely request that you pay special attention to ensuring that Korean companies seeking to expand their presence in Turkmenistan have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of your country's economy and the strengthening of bilateral ties," the President of the Republic of Korea continued.

"In this regard, I look forward to meeting with you in person in 2026 in the Republic of Korea during the Korea-Central Asia Summit and to holding more in-depth discussions on the development of bilateral relations," the letter reads.

Having wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and Turkmenistan continued prosperity, Lee Jae-myung also asked him to convey his warmest greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
