A delegation from Turkmenistan, which included representatives of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, took part in a seminar in Astana dedicated to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles, the International Information Center of Turkmenistan reports.

The event was held within the framework of the international Erasmus+ project “ESGCA”, aimed at modernizing and developing environmental education in Central Asia.

The seminar, which took place on September 9-12 at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan, was aimed at developing master's programs and micro courses on ESG topics, including climate change and sustainable development. The main objectives were to create research centers in universities, develop educational materials on ESG standards and strengthen regional cooperation.

Representatives from Turkmenistan actively participated in working sessions and round tables, discussing the integration of ESG principles into curricula. Their contribution highlighted the importance of cooperation with European partners and opened up new opportunities for interaction between Turkmen universities and international academic networks.
