IOGU of Turkmenistan and Sukhumi University to Enhance Cooperation

On September 11, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Georgia Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov met with the rector of Sukhumi State University Tea Jugeli.

The diplomat congratulated the rector on her appointment and expressed confidence that the university will prosper under her leadership.

The ambassador stressed the importance of continuing the long-term close cooperation between the Embassy of Turkmenistan and the university, especially noting the rich experience of successful joint initiatives in the educational, scientific and cultural spheres.

The meeting also discussed issues related to the preparation and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University and Sukhumi State University, as well as holding bilateral visits at the level of university rectors, which will help strengthen bilateral cooperation between universities and academic circles of both countries. For her part, the rector expressed her readiness to actively support initiatives aimed at promoting joint academic and cultural projects and strengthening partnership between the two countries.
