The President of Azerbaijan arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit

Today, August 22, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Turkmenistan. The plane of the head of the Azerbaijani state landed at the international airport of the city of Turkmenbashi, the News Portal of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Turkmenistan reports.

President Ilham Aliyev will take part in a trilateral summit in the format of "Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Uzbekistan". The forum will be held in the national tourist zone "Avaza".

At the airport, the President of Azerbaijan was greeted with state honors. On both sides of the carpet leading from the plane, in honor of the arrival of the head of the friendly state, an honor guard was lined up. According to the established good tradition, children in national costumes presented the esteemed guest with bread and salt and flowers.

On behalf of the Turkmen side, Ilham Aliyev was met by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev.

During the meeting, the participants will consider issues of developing and deepening multilateral cooperation, primarily in the trade and economic, transport and communications, energy and humanitarian spheres. The summit is expected to result in the signing of a number of joint documents.
