The President of Turkmenistan discussed the development of bilateral and regional partnership with the heads of the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

On March 27, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the head of the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, who arrived in our country to participate in the 20th meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of Central Asia and the European Union, TDH reports.

The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the results of these talks will give a new impetus to the development of relations not only in a bilateral but also in a multilateral format.

As noted, our countries successfully cooperate within the UN, a number of other international and regional structures, as evidenced by the mutual support of each other's initiatives and proposals.

In the context of expanding cooperation between the countries of the Central Asian region in a multilateral format, the importance of the upcoming first Central Asia-European Union summit in Samarkand was emphasized.

An important topic of discussion was also the prospects for further expansion of partnership in a number of priority areas of mutual interest. In the multifaceted cooperation, built on a long-term basis, a special place is given to trade and economic ties. Bilateral trade turnover demonstrates positive dynamics, interaction in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics and agricultural sectors is actively expanding. During the meetings, the successful development of contacts in the cultural, scientific and educational fields was also noted, which is a bridge for bringing our fraternal peoples closer together and strengthening good-neighborliness between them.
