"Dear compatriots! I sincerely congratulate you on a truly historic event of global significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust - the adoption of the Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" at the 61st plenary meeting of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held on March 21, 2025!", reads the address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, published on March 25 in the central media of our country.

"This good news, which marks the international significance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the UN, is a high assessment of our doctrine of neutrality, the state's humanistic policy aimed at ensuring universal peace and development, its initiatives to establish traditions of peace and trust," the head of state said in his address.

The President noted that "The adoption of this Resolution, which once again confirms that Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality is supported by countries around the world, has become a great achievement of Turkmen diplomacy."

"Our valuable experience in establishing ties with countries of the world and international organizations, developing new effective areas of cooperation clearly demonstrates that the policy of neutrality is fully consistent with our national interests and the goals of the United Nations," Serdar Berdimuhamedov said in his address.

The President emphasized that the UN is a strategic partner of Turkmenistan.

"We put forward specific proposals to ensure peace, sustainable development and prosperity, and consistently implement projects in the field of sustainable transport, energy, ecology and environmental protection," the head of Turkmenistan noted.

"Based on our proposals, the UN General Assembly adopted important resolutions in this area, which increased the international authority of our country. The new Resolution also obliges us to continue to direct our policy to strengthening the legal status of our country's neutrality, peace and security, and further expanding international cooperation," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
