The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova conveyed an invitation to the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to take part in a high-level event – the International Forum in Ashgabat on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the “Year of International Peace and Trust”, the website of the Parliament of Turkmenistan reports.

It is noted that the meeting with President Recep Erdogan took place during a working visit to the Republic of Turkey of the official delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova.

During the meeting, Dunyagozel Gulmanova conveyed friendly greetings and best wishes to the Turkish leader from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty to the Turkish people, and also presented an invitation to participate in a high-level event - an international forum in Ashgabat on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the "Year of International Peace and Trust", the Mejlis said in a statement.

The Turkmen side noted that the Turkmen and Turkish peoples are connected by ancient historical roots, cultural and spiritual community, and that today these relations, based on mutual respect, trust and equality, are successfully developing in all areas and are enriched with new content.

It was also noted that cooperation between the two states in the field of international law plays an important role in the further development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries. It was emphasized that these relations contribute to the further strengthening of friendship and brotherhood between peoples and support interstate cooperation. An international forum to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality will be held on December 12 this year in Ashgabat.
