President of Turkmenistan discusses development of interstate partnership with Special Adviser to Prime Minister of Japan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Special Adviser to Prime Minister of Japan Akihisa Nagashima on February 5, TDH reports.
The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the meetings planned during Akihisa Nagashima's visit will provide an opportunity to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, and their results will contribute to enriching Turkmen-Japanese relations with new content.
As noted during the conversation, Turkmenistan pays special attention to the comprehensive expansion of cooperation with Japan in the Asia-Pacific region. Interstate cooperation is long-term, strategic in nature and is actively developing and improving on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust.
Our countries successfully interact not only on a bilateral, but also on a multilateral basis. In this regard, the importance of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan" was especially emphasized. Noting that this format is a platform for the development of both bilateral and regional cooperation in various fields, the President wished the first Summit of Heads of State of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue to be successful.
It was also emphasized that currently Turkmen-Japanese relations cover political, diplomatic, trade, economic, social, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres. The Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation plays a major role in their development.
– As is known, the World Expo 2025 will be held in Japan in April of this year. Turkmenistan also voted for holding it in a friendly country. Having shown great interest in participating in the World Expo, we have created a special Organizing Committee and the relevant preparatory activities are currently underway, - said Serdar Berdimuhamedov, wishing EXPO 2025 a successful outcome.
In this regard, Akihisa Nagashima said that Japan expects a high-level delegation from Turkmenistan to participate in the World Expo.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed our country's readiness to further develop Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.
