Last week, the management of the State Concern “Turkmengas” held a meeting with a delegation of the Turkish company BOTAŞ, headed by General Director Abdulvahit Fidan. During the meeting, the current bilateral relations and prospects for their further development were discussed.
The parties expressed mutual interest in deepening cooperation based on mutual respect, trust and mutually beneficial principles. This is confirmed by the agenda of the meeting, which considered issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and ways to further strengthen it.
As noted, there are significant opportunities for developing relations in the oil and gas industry between the two countries. In March 2024, during the visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero Arkadag to Turkey, a Declaration of Intent in the Field of Cooperation on Hydrocarbon Resources, as well as an Agreement on Cooperation between the State Concern "Turkmengas" and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey on the Development of Cooperation in the Field of Natural Gas were signed. These documents laid an important contractual and legal basis for the further promotion of joint initiatives.
As the representatives of the Turkish delegation noted, the intensification of cooperation with Turkmenistan is perceived in Turkey with great respect. They also emphasized that Turkmenistan has created a reliable legislative framework for the development of international cooperation and the effective work of foreign companies.
The guests expressed gratitude to the President and Hero Arkadag for the attention paid at the state level to the development of fruitful relations. The Turkish side declared its readiness to actively use the opportunities created to further strengthen cooperation and participate in the implementation of joint projects in Turkmenistan.
