Ashgabat to host second exhibition of Afghan products and business forum in February

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposal to hold the second exhibition of Afghan products and business forum in Ashgabat. Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyev reported on preparations for the upcoming events at a government meeting on January 17, TDH reports.
This event, scheduled for February 23-27, will involve manufacturers and businessmen of the neighboring country who are interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The exhibition and business forum will discuss issues of developing mutually beneficial partnerships, as well as the possibility of exporting Turkmen products to Afghanistan. In this regard, a corresponding proposal was submitted to the head of state for consideration.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that holding an exhibition of Afghan products and a business forum in Ashgabat will be an important step in further expanding Turkmen-Afghan cooperation. Having approved the prepared proposal, the head of state instructed the Vice-Chairman to carry out the relevant work.
It should be noted that the first exhibition of Afghan goods and the Turkmen-Afghan business forum within its framework were held on March 4-6, 2024 in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The exhibition featured manufacturers in the food and light industries, agriculture, sporting goods, construction, and various services.
The Afghan delegation last year included about 300 members, including heads and high-ranking representatives of almost 100 companies and other organizations.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the exhibition of Afghan goods and held a business meeting with Afghan entrepreneurs on the development of interstate cooperation. Hero Arkadag noted the important role of this exhibition in enhancing Turkmen-Afghan cooperation and emphasized the importance of systematically holding such events.
