Prospects for cooperation in the field of energy and transport were discussed on December 12 at a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharib-Abadi. During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues on the Turkmen-Iranian agenda. The diplomats confirmed the development of partnership based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
The interlocutors considered the development of trade and economic ties, in particular, in the field of energy and transport. In this regard, the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation was emphasized.
The parties also noted the effectiveness of cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures.
