On December 7, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Ali Abadi and the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammadreza Farzi, who arrived on a visit to our country, TDH reports.
The head of state expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the visit of the Iranian delegation, which will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and enrich it with new content.
As noted, a multi-vector fruitful partnership has been established between Turkmenistan and Iran in the political, diplomatic, financial, economic, energy, agricultural, transport and cultural and humanitarian spheres. Trade and economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of bilateral relations. Iran occupies an important place in Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover.
Noting that there are all the opportunities for further expansion of the dialogue in the oil and gas sector, the head of state expressed confidence that a regular exchange of views on the search for new forms and methods of interaction in this area and their implementation in practice will be useful.
As noted, Turkmenistan is in favor of diversifying energy supplies to world markets. Currently, our country is working with its partners to implement several significant energy projects.
Having emphasized that these activities are carried out taking into account environmental safety, Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to support initiatives and proposals aimed at further developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
