Diplomats of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed current issues of bilateral relations

Current issues of bilateral relations were discussed in Tashkent at a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bahtiyor Saidov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of development of bilateral relations based on friendly and trusting political dialogue at the highest level. In this context, the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the meetings of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty with the President of Uzbekistan, held in 2024, was considered.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, where there is solid potential for joint work. In this context, the importance of the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, as well as holding exhibitions of products of the two countries was emphasized.

The issues of deepening cooperation in the fuel and energy sector were considered.  The issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation were also touched upon. 

The parties confirmed their mutual commitment to further intensifying bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
