International Forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi starts in Ashgabat

On October 11, the International Forum "Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development" has started in the capital of Turkmenistan under the chairmanship of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi, TDH reports.

The venue for the high-level Forum was the large conference hall of the country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Presidents of Armenia Vahagn Hachaturyan, the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Hurelsukh, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in it.  The guests include the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the UNESCO General Conference, heads of international organizations, members of foreign governments, famous scientists, cultural figures and diplomats.

The forum is held as part of a large program of celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Fragi, which includes many festive events organized both in Turkmenistan and abroad.

The main goal of the international forum is to popularize the classical heritage of Magtymguly Fragi, study the relationship between the languages and literatures of the peoples of the East, his role in the development of national statehood, the contribution of the poet-humanist to the treasury of universal spiritual values.
