Government Meeting Discusses Results of the Energy Sector for the First Seven Months of 2024

On August 30, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the Cabinet of Ministers meeting via a digital system, where the results of the work done over the first seven months of the current year were reviewed, and issues of the country's socio-economic development were discussed.
During the government meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on the work carried out in the fuel and energy sector from January to July, including steps taken to improve the efficiency of industry structures.
Reporting on the technical and economic indicators in the oil and gas condensate production sector, the Vice-Chairman stated that the State Concern "Turkmennebit" achieved 102.6 percent of the oil production plan and 102.9 percent of the oil processing plan at the refineries.
During the reporting period, the plan for gasoline production was fulfilled by 108.5 percent, polypropylene by 112 percent, and lubricants by 110.6 percent.
Additionally, indicators for the production of liquefied gas, the extraction of natural and associated gas, and the export of "blue fuel" abroad were reported.
The plan for investment utilization from all sources of financing was fulfilled by 119.1 percent.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that in order to fully utilize the capacity of the country's oil and gas industry enterprises, it is necessary to regularly improve the activities of this sector. It was also noted that oil production and the output of petroleum products need to be increased.
Considering the increased demand for gas in the winter period, the head of state instructed to begin preparations for the season.
The Vice-Chairman also reported on measures taken to modernize the infrastructure of the State Concern "Turkmengas" through the construction of modern specialized facilities, and the broad implementation of innovations and advanced technologies.
In this regard, it was noted that a comprehensive strategy aimed at diversifying the energy sector, optimally realizing its resource and production potential, and developing mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners is being implemented. The work carried out by the State Concern in this direction contributes to increasing natural gas production, boosting its supply to domestic consumers, and expanding exports.
In this context, a draft resolution on the construction of the "Shatlyk-1" gas compressor station by the State Concern "Turkmengas" was presented for consideration by the President of Turkmenistan.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of successfully addressing the tasks set for the oil and gas sector. Signing the resolution on the construction of the "Shatlyk-1" gas compressor station by the State Concern "Turkmengas" to implement projects significant for the supply of Turkmen natural gas to the global market, the head of Turkmenistan sent the document to the Vice-Chairman via the digital system, instructing him to ensure proper oversight of its implementation.
