Interaction in transport, energy, ecology and other areas were discussed at a meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov and Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, which took place as part of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Tajikistan, a high level of development of bilateral relations based on friendly and trusting political dialogue at the highest level was noted.

The parties also assessed the current state of trade and economic relations. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. The parties discussed in detail the preparations for the opening of the Makhtumkuli comprehensive secondary school in the Dusti district of the Hatlon region of Tajikistan, which is intended to become a symbol of friendship and brotherhood of the two countries and peoples.

 As noted, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone of this school took place as part of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tajikistan in May last year, with the participation of the heads of state of the two countries.
