As Iranian media wrote, on May 19, the President of Iran and several other people were returning on several helicopters from Azerbaijan, where the leaders of the two countries participated in the opening ceremony of a hydroelectric complex on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. Early this morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan published a message that Turkmenistan is ready to provide assistance in connection with the helicopter crash in Iran.
“Turkmenistan received with deep concern the news of a helicopter accident in Iran, on board of which were the President of the country Ebrahim Raisi and other high-ranking officials,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
