The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Toshiaki Endo, chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen Parliamentary Friendship Group, on May 14, according to TDH.

During the conversation, there was an interested exchange of views on current issues of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation, where one of the key directions is trade-economic interactions. In this regard, Hero-Arkadag emphasized the significant contribution of Japanese partners in implementing the industrialization program of Turkmenistan and the execution of major investment projects.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also noted the merits of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in elevating bilateral relations to a new level, which is reflected in the productive activities of Japanese business circles in Turkmenistan.

It was noted that for many years, major Japanese companies have been effectively operating in the gas and chemical industries of Turkmenistan. As an example, the successfully implemented joint project for the construction of a natural gas-to-gasoline production plant in the Ahal velayat was mentioned.

The guest emphasized that the high-quality gasoline produced at this state-of-the-art facility, which fully meets environmental standards, is in demand abroad.

During the meeting, it was noted that given the solid potential that both countries possess, new directions open up for mutually beneficial economic partnership. In particular, there are broad prospects for cooperation in the field of advanced technologies in the design, construction, and management of "smart" cities.

Taking the opportunity, Toshiaki Endo also invited Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to visit the World Expo "EXPO-2025," which will be held in Japan next year.
