Preparations are underway for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS

 Turkmenistan is preparing for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, scheduled in Ashgabat on May 24.  This was announced by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov at a government meeting on April 25.

 As Meredov noted, in the implementation of the foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan, great importance is attached to fruitful cooperation with the CIS countries.  As an associated member of the Commonwealth, the Turkmen state regularly participates in CIS events and makes a significant contribution to the development of multilateral partnerships.

 Currently, proper work is being carried out to organize preparations for the upcoming meeting.  In this regard, it is also planned to hold an Information Briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on May 20, and a corresponding Working Meeting in the capital on May 23, the Vice-Chairman said.

 Meredov added that following the meeting, the signing of a number of documents and a press conference are planned.

 Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a high organizational level of preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in Ashgabat and to take the necessary measures in this direction.
