The International Olympiad in Informatics started at the IUOG named after Yagshigeldi Kakaev

On April 17, 2024, under the motto “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi”, the II Open International Olympiad in Informatics of students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries solemnly started within the walls of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldi Kakaev.
Representatives of 18 countries of the world take part in the intellectual competition, namely teachers and students of the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, Germany, Romania, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, the Republic of Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey Republics, states of Qatar and Libya, a total of 350 students from more than 50 countries. The progress of the Olympiad is observed by their mentors, 31 foreign teachers who came to support their students.
The opening ceremony of the Olympics was held in a solemn atmosphere. The rector of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshigeldi Kakaev made a congratulatory speech to the audience, who wished success to all participants in the Olympiad and expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people – Hero-Arkadag, Hero of Turkmenistan - Arkadagly Serdar for the opportunity to host such large-scale events of an international level.
Also during the opening ceremony, speeches were heard from foreign guests, teachers, scientists and professors. The rectors of prestigious universities, noting the high level of organization of the international online communication Olympiad, wished success to all its participants. The songs sung in the languages of the fraternal peoples added even more solemnity to the meeting.
The exhibition, organized in the main building of the university, evoked pleasant emotions among the participants of the Olympiad. The exhibition presents works of painting, decorative and applied art, reflecting the ancient history of our people, the successes and achievements of modern Turkmenistan, rich cultural heritage, national customs and traditions that have survived to this day, as well as wonderful books by the National Leader of the Turkmen people – Hero-Arkadag and President - Arkadagly Serdar.
On April 17, the first round of the II Open International Olympiad in Informatics took place. The second round of the Olympiad will take place today. According to the plan, on April 19, with the participation of students participating in the Olympiad, an international scientific and practical conference and exhibition “Scientific worldview of students in the Era of the revival of a new era of a powerful state” will be held. During the forum, the winners of the Olympiad will be awarded in a solemn atmosphere.
As part of the International Olympiad, tours are organized for foreign guests to the most beautiful sights of Ashgabat, centers of culture and art, trade and recreation, as well as to the historical complex “Nisa”.
