Celebrations on the occasion of International Nowruz Day took place in Turkmenistan

In Turkmenistan, on March 21-22, the National Spring Holiday is celebrated - International Nowruz Day. Celebrations on this occasion took place the day before in all velayats of the country, as well as in the city of Arkadag.
As President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted in congratulating his compatriots on the International Nowruz Day, “being associated with revival, prosperity and renewal of life, Novruz has special significance in the formation of good relations between peoples”.
The head of Turkmenistan emphasized that “the historical significance of the spring holiday is reflected in the works of the classics of the East - Dovletmammet Azadi, Makhtumkuli Fragi, Nurmuhammet Andalib, Abu Reyhan Biruni, Omar Khayyam, Alisher Navoi, Abdyrahman Jami, Firdousi, Mahmyt Kashgarly”.
“Novruz forms good qualities in a person’s soul and fosters selfless feelings, as well as love for nature, life and the world. This holiday, which is celebrated in the beautiful spring, has become a symbol of the renewal of nature and the revival of life,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.
The main celebrations in honor of the bright spring holiday were held at the «Nowruz ýaýlasy» site in the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal region, where members of the Government, leaders and representatives of the Mejlis, Halk Maslahaty, ministries and industry departments, public organizations, the media, as well as the diplomatic accredited in Turkmenistan gathered buildings, numerous guests.
There is an improvised Turkmen village with elegant yurts, in which the national traditions and way of life of the Turkmen people, famous for their masters of decorative and applied arts and various crafts, were reproduced.
One of the attributes of Novruz is a high swing, taking a “flight” on which is considered a spiritually cleansing ritual. And, of course, this tradition attracts young people.
A variety of national cuisine, which is an important element of the unique culture of the Turkmen people, was also presented at the «Nowruz ýaýlasy» site. Each of those present at the celebration tried to try the traditional Nowruz dish - semeni, which is prepared from sprouted wheat grains with the addition of flour and sugar.
Exciting national games also added a special flavor to the colorful palette of celebrations.
A concert of art masters of Turkmenistan held at «Nowruz ýaýlasy» became a creative dedication to the holiday. Its program included musical, choreographic and folklore compositions, vocal performances glorifying the beloved Motherland, the new historical era and its remarkable achievements.
The concert ended, and the celebration in the Ahal Valley, as well as throughout the country, continued.
