On March 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the commissioning ceremony of the second stage of the Lebap cement plant, whose capacity will be 1 million tons of products per year.
The Lebap cement plant, located in the Koytendag etrap of the Lebap velayat, was opened in February 2013. Its design capacity within the 1st stage was 1 million tons of products per year. Popular grades of high-strength cement are produced here. With the commissioning of the second stage, its production potential will double.
The new enterprise has installed modern equipment from leading global manufacturers. Particular attention was paid to environmentally friendly production. The amount of harmful substances released during the production process is significantly less than the permissible concentrations.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted at the commissioning ceremony of the second stage of the Lebap cement plant, currently, on the basis of the Program “Revival of a new era of a powerful state: National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052”, as well as the Program for Social economic development of the country in 2022–2028, large-scale work is being carried out to develop sectors of the national economy, including industry and construction production.
Industry and the construction industry supply construction sites and the population of the country with the necessary high-quality building materials, in particular cement.
Baherden, Balkan and Lebap cement plants, built and put into operation in the country during the years of independence, produce high-quality products based on new innovative technologies that fully comply with international standards. Currently, cement products under the “Made in Turkmenistan” brand are in great demand not only in the domestic but also in the world markets, the head of state said.
The enterprise has installed modern equipment from leading countries of the world, which will optimize the production process and produce products that are in great demand, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
The head of Turkmenistan also said that in accordance with the adopted Programs, consistent dynamics of development of industrial sectors and construction production is ensured. Thus, in the year “The Fount of Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” in the Baherden etrap of the Ahal region, it is planned to commission another new facility – the second stage of the Baherden cement plant, equipped with modern innovative technologies, which will also produce 1 million tons of high-quality cement products per year.
