On October 1, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and the Premier of the State Council Li Qiang on the occasion of the founding of the PRC, TDH reports.
As the head of state emphasized, the People’s Republic of China, by steadfastly adhering to the Chinese model of modernization, makes a significant contribution to promoting global cooperation and a constructive agenda built on the principles of mutual respect and equality.
“Turkmenistan highly values the current level of trust and mutual understanding with the People’s Republic of China. Our states are consistently expanding practical cooperation, strengthening trade and economic ties, developing partnerships in the energy, transport and humanitarian spheres and maintaining a constructive dialogue on international platforms,” the Head of Turkmenistan noted.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed firm confidence that the bilateral cooperation would be enriched with new content through joint efforts.
It is worth noting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the gas sector. In April of this year, work began on the fourth phase of developing the Galkynyş gas field, marking the start of a new direction in the joint cooperation.
One of the key energy cooperation projects between the two countries is the Turkmenistan – China gas pipeline, which was commissioned in 2009. More than 30 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas are supplied to China annually via the pipeline’s three operational lines.
