Turkmenistan delegation will discuss cooperation prospects in UAE

On the order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the government delegation of Turkmenistan went to the United Arab Emirates yesterday to hold talks on the development of mutually beneficial partnership relations.

During the three-day talks in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the parties will discuss issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the areas of interest, as well as investment projects.

The third meeting of the Joint Committee on Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, held in October 2020, considered the preparation of the World Exhibition "EXPO-2020" in Dubai, postponed to 2021, at which Turkmenistan plans to present its best practices in the field of sustainable development and innovation.

At the same time, it was noted that Turkmenistan is open to cooperation on the implementation of energy and infrastructure projects, in particular on the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

The parties also noted the importance of the "green economy" and exchanged views on the use of sustainable energy, the promotion of innovative technologies and expertise in the field of renewable energy. In this context, Turkmenistan expressed interest in expanding cooperation within the framework of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
