Development of energy cooperation in the focus of the 2026 Investment Forum

The program of the 2026 Investment Forum places significant emphasis on expanding international cooperation within the fuel and energy sector.

During the workshop entitled “Energy Sustainability and Reliability. Developing Priority Areas of the Oil, Gas and Chemical Industries of Turkmenistan,” presentations on key development vectors for these sectors were delivered.

As noted, considerable attention is being paid to the phased development of major resource deposits, which serve as a solid foundation for long-term industrial growth. This work is being carried out applying global best practices, thus ensuring a steady supply of raw materials to domestic processing facilities.

The modernization of the oil refining sector is another crucial component of Turkmenistan’s industrialization strategy. Advancing industrial production to new levels is achieved through attracting investment and fostering close cooperation with leading international companies. The construction of modern gas-chemical complexes facilitates the production of a wide range of goods – from polymers to mineral fertilizers, which are in great demand in global markets.

As highlighted during the workshop “Energy Interconnectivity and Energy Security as Drivers of Sustainable Economic Growth. Development of Industrial and Construction Sectors,” Turkmenistan that possesses abundant natural resources is committed to developing its energy system through its diversification.

The successful implementation of projects in this vital area fosters expanded economic cooperation at both regional and global levels. Turkmenistan is consistently implementing measures to develop a sustainable, environmentally clean and safe energy sector. This creates immense opportunities for international financial institutions to participate in projects currently underway in the country.
