China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will serve as a platinum partner of the 31st International Conference and Exhibition «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2026». The event will take place in Ashgabat on October 21–23.
The China National Petroleum Corporation has been operating in Turkmenistan since 2007.
The corporation’s participation in the international conference and exhibition coincides with the 20th anniversary of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the gas sector. In April of this year, as part of the development of the «Galkynyş» gas field, work began on the fourth phase of its development, marking the start of a new area of joint cooperation. The project involves drilling production wells and constructing a gas processing plant with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of marketable natural gas per year.
One of the main energy cooperation projects between the two countries is the Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline, which began operations in 2009. More than 30 billion cubic meters of Turkmen gas are supplied to China annually via the pipeline’s three operational lines.
The corporation also provides support in training specialists for Turkmenistan’s energy sector and in educating Turkmen students in China.
The 31st International Conference and Exhibition «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2026» will bring together representatives of energy companies, investors, government agencies, and technology suppliers. The conference agenda includes issues related to the development of the «Galkynyş» field, the expansion of export infrastructure, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, projects in the Caspian Sea, gas processing, the digitalization of the industry, and the reduction of methane emissions.
The 31st International Conference and Exhibition «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2026» is organized by the State concerns «Türkmengaz» and «Türkmennebit», the State corporation «Türkmengeologiýa», and the company «Turkmen Energy Forum» (TEF).
