The first EU-Turkmenistan business forum is scheduled to be held in March this year. According to the Orient agency, it was announced at a joint briefing held on February 17 by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the delegation of the European Union.

“The central event of 2026 will be the EU Business Forum - Turkmenistan, scheduled for March. This will be the first site of such a scale, where European capital will meet directly with the Turkmen private sector,” the news agency writes.

EU Ambassador Beata Pexa emphasised that the forum will focus on critical raw materials, digital communications and logistics. For Turkmenistan, this is a chance to occupy an empty niche in supply chains between Asia and Europe.

The German and French ambassadors emphasized the role of Team Europe initiative. The recent Berlin Declaration (February 2026) confirmed that Central Asia is the "preferred partner" for the European economy. Germany relies on energy and digital technologies. France is lobbying for the resumption of the Erasmus+ program and cultural exchange.

As noted at the briefing, 2025 was a record year in terms of contact intensity. Turkmenistan took part in the EU - Central Asia summit, and visits of key European commissioners, including Kai Kallas and Josef Sikelu, secured the status of a strategic hub in the Caspian Sea for Ashgabat.

Among the main achievements of 2025 in the energy sector, the launch of the Green Turkmenistan initiative and active work to reduce methane emissions, in the field of transport - the formation of a “road map” along the Trans-Caspian Corridor as part of the strategy were named Global Gateway. The briefing demonstrated that the partnership between Ashgabat and Brussels is seeking from the phase of political consultations to the stage of practical implementation of mega-projects, ORIENT notes.
