Turkmenistan attracts the largest volume of foreign direct investment from the United Arab Emirates among Central Asian countries. Our country accounts for 65.4% of all UAE investments in the region, which amounts to 8 billion US dollars. Such data is provided by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

Following Turkmenistan, the largest recipients of UAE investments were Uzbekistan (2.2 billion US dollars, or 17.85% of the total) and Kazakhstan (1.5 billion US dollars, or 12.3%).

The rapid development of economic ties between the countries indicates the growing interest of the UAE in cooperation with Central Asian states, including in strategically important sectors.

According to the EDB, in general, Central Asia remains a key direction for investment from the UAE. Investment projects cover such areas as energy, raw materials, construction and other industries.
