Turkmenistan’s national pavilion opens at the 9th China International Import Expo in Shanghai

The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE 2026) opened in Shanghai, PRC, on November 5 and will run until November 10. Turkmenistan is represented at the forum by a national pavilion, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the country in collaboration with Oguz Forum and Expo CJSC.

Turkmenistan’s 132-square-meter stand is located within the Country Exhibition zone. There, state entities, enterprises and private entrepreneurs are showcasing products, services and investment projects across various sectors, including energy, the oil and gas sector, the chemical and textile industries, transport, logistics, the agro-industrial complex and health care. Traditional handmade Turkmen carpets are allotted a central place at the exhibition.

The China International Import Expo is a major global platform dedicated exclusively to the import of goods and services. It has been held annually since 2018 under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and the Shanghai municipal government. The scale of the event is underscored by last year’s figures: more than 4,100 companies from 150 countries participated in the CIIE, with the total value of deals concluded exceeding 83.4 billion US dollars.

According to the International Information Center of Turkmenistan, participation in the exhibition will enable Turkmen producers to expand their presence in the Chinese market, to attract new investors and to strengthen strategic economic cooperation between the two states.
