On September 17, an exhibition, showcasing Turkmenistan’s economic achievements, opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat, marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this anniversary showcase vividly demonstrates that, over the past 35 years, sovereign Turkmenistan has been developing at a rapid pace and steadily expanding its economic potential.
In his Welcoming Address to the exhibition participants, heard with great attention by the audience, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the event showcases not only Turkmenistan’s achievements but also initiatives and new projects destined to pave the way for future successes.
As the Head of State emphasised in his Address, “Today, Turkmenistan is known as a rapidly developing nation driven by high technologies and innovation, where large-scale undertakings are successfully implemented.”
Both government agencies and private businesses presented their stands at the Exhibition Centre. Participants included enterprises from the fuel and energy, transport, construction, chemical and agricultural sectors, among others. The hyakimliks of Ashgabat, the new smart city of Arkadag and the velayats of Turkmenistan also set up their own displays.
The pavilions of the Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit State Concerns and the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation use maps and visual aids to illustrate the dynamic growth of key sectors of the national economy.
On display are the rapidly developing infrastructure, oil and gas fields currently in production or under development, existing and planned routes for natural gas exports and the country’s vast underground mineral wealth.
A highlight of the opening day was the presentation of investment projects and products from domestic manufacturers. At an allotted venue, ministries, government agencies and private companies showcased indicators of sectoral development achieved over 35 years of independence. The exhibits feature new products of the textile and food industries, construction materials and digital innovations.
The exhibition of Turkmenistan’s economic achievements runs until September 19.
