A high-level United Nations roundtable will be held on October 20, 2026, ahead of the XXXI International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – OGT 2026.”
The topic of the forthcoming roundtable is “Reliable, Affordable and Sustainable Energy: Advancing Sustainable Development Goal 7 through International Cooperation.” The meeting will address ensuring reliable, affordable and sustainable energy as a key factor in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7, promoting economic development, strengthening regional cooperation and ensuring environmental sustainability.
Particular attention will be paid to the role of natural gas, reducing methane emissions, improving energy efficiency, digital technologies and international cooperation in shaping a sustainable energy future.
The roundtable will be attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, representatives of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan, the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and enterprises of the country’s fuel and energy sector.
