In his congratulatory message to the leadership of Malaysia on the occasion of its national holiday, Independence Day, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the successful development of the cooperation, TDH reported on August 31.
Emphasizing that Turkmenistan highly values its friendly relations with Malaysia and attaches great importance to strengthening them, based on the principles of mutual respect, trust and equality, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in their continued successful development and strengthening, the news agency reported.
The head of state also emphasized that during the talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, which took place recently in Ashgabat, the two sides reaffirmed their mutual desire to further strengthen the Turkmen-Malaysian partnership, and important decisions were made to expand and deepen the bilateral cooperation.
The President expressed confidence that the results of the official visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister will serve the interests of our peoples.
It is worth noting that following the Turkmen-Malaysian talks in Ashgabat in July of the current year, a package of documents on developing cooperation in the oil and gas, transport and other sectors was signed.
Among them were the Türkmennebit State Concern and Petronas Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd., which signed a production sharing agreement and a seismic survey agreement, and the Türkmengaz State Concern and Petronas Carigali International Ventures Sdn. Bhd., which signed an agreement on new projects. The Governments of Turkmenistan and Malaysia signed an air service agreement.
Furthermore, the countries are committed to implementing projects in artificial intelligence, digitalization and semiconductor manufacturing, where Malaysia possesses advanced technologies.
