Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 6, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined priorities for implementing the Foreign Policy Concept for Neutral Turkmenistan in 2026, TDH reports.

The Foreign Policy Concept for Neutral Turkmenistan is quite broad and encompasses many areas. Next year, Turkmenistan will continue to expand cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, the President said.

Dialogue with neighboring states is a priority, Berdimuhamedov emphasized, noting that Turkmenistan will continue to strengthen relations with Central Asian countries, as well as with the Caspian states, based on friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect.

The head of Turkmenistan also emphasized that close partnership with member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization will be maintained in the economic, energy, transport, and communications sectors.

Turkmenistan will significantly expand its cooperation with countries in South Asia, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. These regions are currently experiencing widespread economic and technological progress. These countries are showing great interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan, noted Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The President emphasized that appropriate work must be undertaken to implement the Great Silk Road strategy, which forms a link in the transport and transit corridor from Asia to Europe. It is essential to continue building equitable, mutually beneficial relations with European countries based on mutual respect. Particular attention must be paid to cooperation with them in high technology, the transition to green energy, and the implementation of artificial intelligence.

It is also important to consistently expand cooperation with countries in North and South America and the African continent, the Turkmen leader continued, noting partnerships with the UN and other international organizations among the areas of such cooperation.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that a large number of international events are planned for Turkmenistan next year. Thus, in 2026, the country's main holiday—the 35th anniversary of its sacred independence—will be solemnly celebrated, and the VIII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia will be held. Turkmenistan will chair the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the country will host the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.

The President of Turkmenistan also announced the completion of his new book, "Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygy – parahatçylygyň we ynanyşmagyň aýdyň ýoly," dedicated to the results of the current year and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality. The publication contains a collection of the country's key achievements on the international stage and initiatives on global security.
